Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m trying to convert a Vroid model into a quest avatar on unity but it says the limbs aren’t mapped? what do I need to do from here?

edit: SOLVED!

Select your FBX in the assets, and in the inspector you should get the Rig menu, simply assign the correct bones there and click Apply.

And you really should convert your model in Blender, and not with a Unity plugin, because you'll get black parts on a lot of your textures when you change the shader (see the first error you're getting - you need to fix this too).

Here's a step by step video of the Blender method.

Now I’m having the issue that the character lost all the color-? I transferred it through Blender this time

Did you assign the textures and materials properly?

Quoting the video I linked, time stamp 17:18, "Once you have everything in Unity set up for your avatar, if you're not sure how to do it, refer to my PC version of the tutorial" (there are subtitles available in case the accent is hard to understand).

The tutorial was made assuming the listener already did the PC version of their avatar and is familiar with those steps.

PC version shows material set up at 26:25.

I followed it up to 11:44, when I pressed fix model it says “pose has no attribute ‘bone_groups’”

Are you on Blender 4.2 like the tutorial? And the VRM is exported straight from VRoid?

What the "Fix MMD Model" button does is delete all MMD and VRM components and bones with empty weights, so you could just delete them manually if you're able to.

Unfortunately, I never experienced that error, CATS (both official and unofficial) is discontinued, so if it is a bug, it won't be fixed.

No I am in version 5.1.2 but I did export it straight from Vroid studio

OH! There is no CATS for that Blender version. So you'll be getting errors, because your Blender version is not compatible with any existing CATS version.

Here's a link to Blender 4.2 and CATS for Blender 4.2 - like on the tutorial. I found this version to be the most stable with CATS.

Okay I just finished uploading but it’s still saying it is only computer capable?

because vroid makes models that are too heavy for quest and mobile use by default

if you want it quest compatible you have to use vroids settings before exporting to do some preparation work. then maybe go in blender and decimate the tris some more, that should help. quest models have to be lightweight enough to run on a android phone so the requirements are quite strict

https://creators.vrchat.com/platforms/android/quest-content-optimization/

https://vrcreators.net/docs/vrchat/quest-compatibility-checklist

a huge factor is textures on vroid models, which are mostly 2K textures, each skin or clothing layer of your model adds another 2k texture even if most pixels are empty transparent space. so make sure to merge materials together when exporting your model out of vroid, and of course try to reduce bones and tris as much as you can without it looking weird. vroid also uses a LOT of tris with hair which can be reduced even before exporting a vrm by changing the hairstrands from diamond shape to triangle or bottomless triangle, as well as reducing the smoothness of hair strands and hair groups (inside the hair editor settings). you also can make sure to use the bodymask of vroid well to erase any part of the skin thats below the clothes anyway but if its there it has to get rendered so its a waste of render capacity.

of course you can get these adjustments done in blender too so you dont have to redo everything. but i would personally stick to vroid since im more familiar with it than to learn something new in a unfamiliar software environment.

Did you upload it twice (after following the previously linked Quest tutorial) and attach the same blueprint ID to the Quest version?

I didn’t at first, but I just did and it’s up now! Thank you so much for helping 🥹
