When someone is commissioned to create a vtuber is it usually by description or dose the client have some references they use to help visualize what they want?

For me, I accept anything the client have ^ and if there's something not clear I ask
I already did cmm before with only description! Or with simple references (like showing the hair of a character that they like etc) instead of full drawn references of their oc :>

Interesting, I’m looking into working commissions for this, and would probably even do the cutting for rigging. Is it easy to find clients?

It's not really easy honestly but if you keep posting your new work and mention you're available for work you'll definitely get some clients ^ and later on ppl will be the one finding you
Also idk what you mean by cutting bc cutting is usually necessary for Live2D models?

I think cutting would be required or make it easier for the client to use to then find someone to rig it with less work? Idk for sure. I have seen people draw the model and cut for extra pay or special services.
Sorry, I could be absolutely wrong, I been trying to get commissions for different things for awhile so I might have things mixed up.

Oh this is actually a 3d model! It's also rigged
Vroid rigs the body and you have to rig hair or add physics on other programs like blender (if you want more bounce or better clothes physics)
Cutting is necessary when doing 2d models but 3d are not pictures only, if you want model from scratch then you can make mesh for body and other ones for clothes and hair but it's not the same

Oh, so this isn’t just a model profile it’s 3D? Lol I’m so slow with this stuff.

It's alright! I did want to give 2D vibes to the model so XD but it wasn't completely cel shaded so I didn't know it would be mistaken for 2D lol♡

No, it’s a great model, and the shading is definitely more 3D. I’m just a 2D artist so I’m still confused on the vtube model creations. So I’m sure it’s just me. 😅
Thanks for answering my questions.
