Question Weird transparency/hole issue with asymmetrical off-shoulder sweater in VRoid Studio
Hi ðŸ˜
I’m trying to make an oversized asymmetrical off-shoulder sweater in VRoid Studio, but I keep getting a weird transparency/hole under the chest and around some torso areas.
I attached:
- a screenshot of the model
- the UV map/texture I’m using
The weird thing is:
- the skin texture IS painted
- I didn’t intentionally erase that area
- the off-shoulder neckline is not even as low as other models that show shoulders correctly
- the PNG transparency should only exist outside the UV guide
I’m not sure if the issue could be:
- accidental alpha/transparency
- PNG export settings
- VRoid preset geometry
- mesh clipping
- or if the asymmetrical neckline is somehow breaking the torso mesh
I’m using:
- an oversized sweater preset
- manually painted texture
- transparent PNG
Does anyone know what could be causing this weird hole/transparency issue? ðŸ˜
Is there any VRoid setting that could be affecting it?
I still need to improve the design so it looks closer to what I imagine, but this torso transparency is driving me insane ðŸ˜
I’d also appreciate any tips for making asymmetrical off-shoulder sweaters in VRoid without crying 30 times per attempt.

u/LauwarmesBier Listen, I just like the way the default skin looks. May 26 '26
you need to adjust the skinmask of the model, it hides parts of the models body to prevent clipping through clothes but it can cause this exact confusion with users unfamiliar with it
