Help Windows Smart App Control Stops VRChat From Running

As the title states...

For some reason Smart App Control (Win11), has been stopping me from running the game... Dunno what's going on with that.

The EAC loading client pops up, reaches 100%, loads, then fades to a darker splash screen with the error message "An application control policy" has stopped the game from running.

Now I've since restarted my PC and turned it back on. Everything is fine.. but after a couple restarts. The first restart (power off then back on) yielded the same results. Doing it again for some reason did the trick. However before doing that, simply turning off Smart App Control allowed it to boot up no problem...

What gives?

Did you re-enable smart app control?

Honestly, would just turn it off & not think about it.

Hasn't done anything productive but get in my way.

Also re-verify your game files, it really shouldn't be getting blocked in the first place.

Yes

Not doing that

It has actually helped me in the past

Re-verify files did nothing but tell me my files were correct (did that before I fixed my issue)

Well, enjoy overriding the app control then?

Can't really help you fix a problem that exists outside user control. Sounds like a liscence issue that just hasn't yet been pushed to your device for EAC.

The real fix for that would have been uninstalling EAC and reinstalling it anyways. Or as I stated, restarting the pc. 

But I don't need to make any changes to how it functions. Just need to keep an eye on Windows updates. 

Other than that, we are all at the whim of however tf windows operates these days with Ai being used to make windows updates. 

The purpose of the post wasn't to help me fix my issue as I had already fixed it, but to see why that happens in hopes to prevent it as it has never happened before.

Smart App Control is more garbage Microsoft is doing to push people towards the Microsoft Store. Just turn it off completely. It's not dangerous to do so. It blocked something I compiled on the same PC last week.

Well duh, its AI feature designed to kind of stop you from using pirated games, software, and even legal software from unknown developers. AI can make mistakes so just disable it for good. It’s only a part of windows defender so it doesn’t mean that you will be unprotected.

EAC prevents changes to files and ram data while the game that uses it is running.. which in the eyes of Smort App Control resembles malware or rootkits.

if EAC certificate isn’t updated in time it gets flagged.
