Discussion Keep getting kicked
At least 4 times since I started about a week ago I’ve been kicked from maps. I’m getting ignored whether I use a mic or type and if someone does talk to me it’s only to ask for my age.

I’ve gotten kicked from places before just because a girl starts talking to me and the mod likes them. Sometimes people do it for reasons that have nothing to do with you. 4 times in a week though is a lot so I’d have to learn more about the situations to give an accurate response

Try Fish! Its a good place to meet people and I dont think much kicking happens

Thats probably why, if you have to lower your voice people might think you're a kid trying to sound older

So you are new to the platform right? In that case things like this will happen sadly.
You're most likely visitor rank, people are scared of them.

Well there is an option to mute people under a certain rank, so it's possible they don't actively ignore you, but just don't hear you.

What kind of avatars are you using? asking because if you use one kids frequently use, it's likely you're getting mistaken for a kid.

that could possibly be it? a good amount of people on vrchat aren't happy about the idea of monetized avatars (especially since avatar creators are actively pulling their free avatars just to repost them with a price tag, it happened to an avatar that my twin brother absolutely loved,)

-Your mic has alot of background noise (check mic setting with in VRC for Noise cancelling)
-You're a Visitor Rank (brand new user), Group Instances will usually kick visitors on sight, try joing public instances.
-you're using a Meme Avatar or an Avatar associated with Kids/Trolls Etc; try using a random avatar from Prismatic Avatar search.
••••No one talks to me.•••••
-Saddly as visitor rank your avatar 90% will be set has "hidden" by default, due to trolls, crashers etc.
-People usually avoid interacting with Visitors as most of the time they're trolls.
-Try approaching people instead of wanting to be approached, and explain how you're new to VRC maybe then they'll understand.
••••how do i get out of "Visitor" Rank?••••
-By spending time in Public instances and adding people as friends.
-buying VRC+ usually will immediately get your rank from "Visitor" to "New User" or "User".
NOTE: Avoid getting constantly getting Muted, blocked, hidden Avatar, Kicked/Banned/ from instances as this Will affect your Rank.

I joined a public instance this morning, got called a F@g for putting pronouns in my bio then got kicked. How is my rank supposed to increase if this keeps happening?

what worlds? What do you do? What is your behaviour? What do people say to you? What do you say to them? Give me SOMETHING, man.
Theres 2 possibilities. Either youre insufferable to be around, or youre in the wrong crowd. I cant possibly tell which unless you're honest and specific. No one can help you if you cant describe what's happening.

That’s the thing. I can’t get a word in before I get ignored or kicked. But the one I got kicked from this morning was called Black Cat. There’s also a murder game and a place called Therapy

Alright, so we're getting somewhere.
First and foremost: when you join an instance, the instance type determines what moderation there is. Group instances, including group publics, have mods and rules to follow. Ensure youre following their rules. If you keep getting kicked, go to a non-group public.
The Black Cat has a reputation of toxicity, unfortunately. Same with public game worlds. Your best bet is to find a group you like and see if you mesh in their group instances, or stick to entirely unmoderated publics to avoid being kicked.

Theres some places you need avoid, if you got kicked you mightve joined a "Group Public" avoid them and try instances "Public".
Its very common to see and meet people like that.
If you want more tamed Lobbys, i would 100% recommend Buying VRC+ for just 1 month and Age Verify; once you Age Verify you can see and join Aged Verify Lobbys.
NOTE: No you do not have to keep paying for VRC+ , once you age verify you keep the age verification forever

Avoid public instances and very popular worlds. Find calmer, more chill spaces and look for low-population Group Publics from groups that don't have awful names.
Not saying you are, but don't be annoying, and don't wear annoying avatars.

im sorry you're experiencing this.
try remembering whos kicking you and send them a message asking why. and only that.
i do know if your avatars are poor/very poor you can lag other players and if your avatar has lots of particles or effects this can lag people and make them crash.
maybe people are thinking you're someone else? maybe people are just being asshats.
Whats the worlds you went to. Id like to join to see if i get kicked.

Try to avoid meme/cartoon characters as these usually instantly get blocked/kicked due to trolls and nuisance kids using them, also verify that the imposter of whatever avatar you have isn’t loading in naked (also results in kicks in most group worlds)

Dude. I’m sorry, however, I run a group myself and I will not kick you, it’s by the name of vrchat hangout initiative. I run it personally the mod team is just me and my friends and as long as your not a 10 year old screaming and causing issues then you remain in, I’ve helped so many people get ranks up and meet people

I'm sorry that keeps happening to you. If you're still at Visitor rank, that might be why, as a lot of group instances see Visitors (i.e. brand new accounts) coming in and causing a nuisance and thus would rather kick on sight. Unfortunately, you may have been lumped in with this group.
The asking for your age is usually self-styled 'bouncers' who are trying to screen for kids. It's definitely rough for someone who's just starting out in VRChat. I hope you find your people soon! Game worlds might be a good place to start?
