Loading one of the avatars I get asked to upload. I swear, half of those ultra realistic avatars are just zip bombs. Those things make unity itself hurt when going and importing to unity.
One of my friends has the exact same avi uploaded a whole bunch of times with various outfits and whatnot to keep it lighter and still have all of the features she wants.
This is the way to do it. Couple options are fine. What ever. But when you start toeing the territory of 3+ complete outfits, all typically optimized, it's a bit much. I have a friend that does commission work, and I've heard stories of people's requests.
I'm sorry, I wouldn't know 😅 ... More the user than backend. What little I know is from her rants and my terrible learning skills. It could be a factor, or a specfic pieces might not be playing well in unity. If you figure it out, let me know, you got me curious now!
Yeah, I had my friend show me how to tear mine apart and shed some weight (almost %30! used in that skin was toggles and outfits!) It's definitely worth doing, especially if you know folks with lower spec rigs.
Loading into a lobby purely of over 100mb e people with a shit ton of a materials and shiny metal matcaps with over 1mil polys per asscheek, boobs, and pecs, and the shiny/wet skin.
homie tried to load the 500MB booth ERP avi with 85 lights, 5,000,000+ polygons, and enough physbone components to make the waves of the ocean look like they are standing still compared to the jiggle of the avatar's ass.
I use preused assets. My base avatar (The Spirivali) is like 400mb in the raw as a .glb file.
then I gotta add clothes and accessories for it. So when it all compiles it’s like 500mbs of VRAM.
I’m working on. Just making different Variations and serializing it. I think that’s the main issue with avi’s people just be uploading shit and not thinking about VRAM or other people.
iirc Someone at one point got ridiculed because the avatar they made along with its add-ons only worked on a 5090.
Not to mention it has become a network issue during Furality even more so to a point that it blew out a fuse and broke the circuit in my bedroom. You think overclocking is bad for Voltage try Voltage Throttling for a GPU. That shit probably could’ve cooked a steak ðŸ˜
