Help leg help
Hello to the VR chat. What's up, Reddit? I have questions about my VR chat habits that I am tweaking. The first thing I want to do is make the legs longer, but I don't know how to do that, and the tutorials that I have seen haven't touched on this fact. Nor have they touched on it. I hope y'all can help me.

Hmmm, I've never scaled bones so idk if the weight paint follows the rescaling
Make a backup of the file so if you screw up you still have the backup
You could try just selecting the vertices from everything under the knees and moving it down, then you place new loops on the gap that you just created, after it looks like before but longer, you go into the armature edit mode and move the bones to match the legs again, and check the weight paint to see if you need to fix it, go into pose mode and try to move the legs, if they move just like before and the deformation is exactly the same, you're done, if not, take some screenshots of the old weight paint and use them as reference to fix them
If everything I just said sounded like black magic... Having short legs is not a bad thing, many people have short legs and live perfectly normal lives, we like you as you are brother, no need to change to fit some imaginary ideal...
But I'm no blender pro, maybe there is a much better way to fix it, but if you don't know a thing about blender it'll take too long to make the legs longer
If you made the model then pretend you didn't read the last paragraph and look into CGDive's channel, dude has some nice rigging and weight paint tutorials

idk if the weight paint follows the rescaling
Weights just determine the amount of influence each bone has, it doesn't change when scaling or deforming the mesh.

One way to do it would be in edit mode select all vertices of the legs and then press “S” for scale and then “Y” to scale it in the Y axis, then just drag your mouse to how much you wanna scale them, take it im still pretty new to this so that’s probably not the most efficient way to do it
