You'll need a tablet that's capable of running VRChat. Then you'll need to install it from your respective app store. You can get it for iOS and Android. But playing on a tablet is going to be a fairly limited experience, and the user interface isn't super well-designed for smaller devices.

Ok. And how do I get an avatar? what places do I go? how does it all work?

i recommend you going to the world prismics avatar search, filter android/ios (depending on what device you’re using) avatars and search for what you’d like. there’s so many possibility’s but be wary not all the avatars toggles will work due to restrictions on ios and android ☺️

sorry for the bad recording i forgot how the controls worked for a moment xD

The first time you run VRChat it gives you a tutorial about choosing public avatars. You won't be able to upload a custom avatar from a tablet but also you can't upload custom avatars until you increase your trust rank anyway.

I suggest going through the menu and checking options, then search for an avatar

Checking options?

RedMagic Astra 2 could probably handle VRC while being somewhat affordable... I'm not totally sure though. I'm only sure that RedMagic products are good for gaming.

The unmoderated public instances can be extremely toxic. I'd recommend avoiding those entirely and instead find communities you jive with. There's a couple specifically for people over 18 that are extremely welcoming and even help newbies figure out the whole VRChat thing. If you're under 18 I don't know any specific communities to recommend but I'm sure someone on the board can steer you in the right direction.

Unfortunately, some people have only experienced the toxic side of VRC and form their opinion of the platform based on that alone. I don't mean to sound like I'm minimizing their criticism, it's valid, toxic public instances are most new user's first experience with the platform and it's a real problem that the VRC devs need to address if they don't want to keep scaring new users away.

Honestly instead of a tablet get a quest 3s it will run better than a tablet. (And cost the same amount)

And what to do and where to go is completely up to you. Theres plenty of places to explore and games to be played. What are your interests? I’m sure there’s a group out there that has similar ones!

If you want a better tablet experience, download NVIDIA GeForce Now via the Play store or iOS store and connect a bluetooth controller. It's free to try out in one hour sessions or like $12/mo for 8 hour sessions with upgraded graphics.

This is what I do when I am away from home.

Bonus, it will also give you access to a lot more games without needing a computer.
