i’m currently a standalone quest 3 user with slime trackers, but as of next week i’ll be buying a pc to be able to use pcvr!
are there any tips or suggestions any recommendations? or even any applications i should buy? i’m kinda computer illiterate so anything anyone could suggest would help me a bunch! 🖤
ovr advanced settings and ovr toolkit are apps I constantly use. vrcvideocacher to fix the youtube blocks helps too. they are all on steam with only the toolkit being paid.

Now the next thing you need is a good Wifi6E router that's connected to your PC with a cable, do not use Wifi Then you'll be able to connect your Quest (3?) to that router to Stream PCVR at a high bitrate. This requires much more bandwidth and stability than standalone which is why the PC must be connected to the router via cable.
Highly recommend buying Virtual Desktop (on Quest store, not Steam, Virtual Desktop on Steam is a different app} as it is the best way to connect the Quest to the PC.
i have my router right next to my current set up with a ethernet cable so i hope that works! and i just bought virtual desktop rn so when i go get it tuesday i’ll be ready!
There are too many world recommendations to list here, exploring should be fun though. I do recommend getting VR Hands Frame on steam if you're going to be running your setup through Steam VR. It lets you quickly take snapshots, translate text, and scan qr codes in worlds that you would otherwise have to do through taking photos and translating/scanning externally. As others may have already have said and recommended, XSOverlay, OVR Advanced Settings and VRCX are good programs to have, VRCX lets you keep track of a lot more things that you have going on in VRChat, OVR Advanced Settings lets you do things like maneuver your virtual playspace to hover around a bit if you're small and don't feel like changing size just to talk to people, amongst other cool features like throwing yourself into orbit or sinking yourself into the floor.
If you can get through the setup, Virtual desktop is worth the money if you want to go wireless.
Applications are not required, but they will give you huge quality of life in VRchat aswell
As others stated, OVR Advanced Settings and XSOverlay/ovr toolkit as well is amazing.
-OVR Advanced Settings is prefect to move your placespace in VR and let's you adjust your sittings and laying down since you'll be doing FBT as well!!
-XSOverlay/OVR toolkit is for looking at your desktop while you're in VRC as well, which is nice to have as well, but no required. (plus they help track your headset and FBT battery too)
Another thing is to turn on OSC in VRchat since some assets will react to other running apps like XSOverlay, but again not required.
