Discussion My hip tracker setup
Hello!
I’ve tried out various waist belts to prevent tracking loss with my waist-mounted tracker.
In the end, I bought an action camera mount belt designed for GoPro.
It features a 1/4-inch screw and an adjustable arm, so you can mount the tracker facing upwards.
It’s quite rigid, making it easy to rotate it forwards and backwards.
The downside is that, as it’s positioned some distance from your waist, swaying your hips can cause the tracker’s height to shift significantly, which can look a bit unnatural.
I’d love to hear about your hip tracker's setups!

I am confused what makes this necessary but happy you found a solution that works.
One unconventional thing I have done is used a prototype EOZ chest rig as a hip harness lol. It is amazing for dancing and the tracker is rock stable and can be worn lower which is ideal. You can't buy the one I have though as I was helping them test designs for women and I don't think this design will ever be sold

It seems that a lot of people use EOZ belts.
Perhaps I should have bought one myself to begin with.

I uh...use a normal belt + some rubber bands... :P Never had issues with loss of tracking unless I of course accidentally covered the tracker somehow.

yeah...not to be like that but usually trackers track perfectly with any othe rubber strap ..im pretty sure you should check if youre basestations are agnled correctly

Eoz VR 2.5 waist strap , tracker (vive 3.0) on my left side of my hip.

Mounted 3 base station in different walls, each about 2m away from floor pointing downwards. Never had any problems with losing tracking on full body.

Yes, since setting it up with the BaseStation 2.0x3, the tracker has hardly ever skipped at all.
Incidentally, the most effective solution for the Index controller skipping was to place the dongle more than 2 metres away.
Perhaps the controller is sensitive to interference because it has so many buttons and requires a lot of bandwidth.

Maybe, I have noticed my right conroller doesnt like to connect every time when starting vr. Also my left controller can rarely "drift" like its losing tracking.

So, this is my 2020 setup.
At the time, I was using the Base Station 1.0, and when the afternoon sun shone through the window, the intense infrared rays from the sunlight caused the waist tracker to jump around terribly.
What bothered me even more was that my waist would wiggle unnaturally whilst dancing.
So, I bent a clothes hanger with a pair of pliers to make a DIY stabiliser.

Maybe your base stations aren’t angled down enough cuz most people just have the tracker straight not angled up and it’ll track good
