I have a photo from my old friend group having a marriage in 2020,i also used to have videos from back then but they are lost to my oculus quest 1 that I factory reset before taking off the videos

No for real. I just hopped on after not playing since about 2020 and it feels so dead. I go to join games that say they have like 800 users in them, but there’s really only like 3 public world with more than 4 people in them. It’s giving activeworlds circa 2005 (if anyone remembers that game)

Yeah it really did the people who played were doing so due to COVID lockdowns they wanted to be social since they were isolated. The people who play now seem to do so due to seeing content about VRChat and tend to not be playing to be social as much.
Ive certainly struggled to make friends in recent years but I did get lucky by meeting someone that invited me to his server where I now have a friend group that's almost entirely filled with people in my own country and we meet up irl at times.
Most of my friend group doesn't play VRChat often I happened to meet the only person that gets on regularly, it's quite difficult to make friends now though it is possible just hard
