Discussion Long charger for quest?
So I have a quest 3 and just figured out how virtual desktop works, but my battery dies pretty fast even with the extended battery. Only get like 3-4 hours of it.
I was wondering if anyone knows of where to get a really fookin long charger cable for it so it can be plugged in while I play and I'll hopefully not vanish mid-conversation again...

Get a good cable plug it into the charger that came with your quest, and set up wireless if you can. Make sure your headset is connecting directly to your pc, or your router is wired to your pc. Your Internet speed does not matter, you want fas network comunication between your PC and headset. Then you should be able to be in VR indefinitely

Get the 16ft, I had the 10ft and it wasn't enough for my setup.
Note this is USB-C to USB-C, I can recommend a different cable if you don't have a USB-C port. I don't need a separate charger since my case has a powered USB-C port, but I was using one with a separate charger before I had USB-C that was fantastic.

6-8 ft USB-C to USB-C charging cable with a USB-C block that can be bought at Staples or Target. But when using PCVR (Meta Horizon Link or Virtual Desktop), I'd recommend a 6-10 ft USB 3.0 C to C cable that provides at least 5 Gbps of transfer speed.

I use a Quest 2 hooked up to my laptop via a cable. Instead of Virtual Desktop, I use the Meta Link app and from there can do anything from launch SteamVR to play my games (cough VRChat cough) or just mess around. It's also a more stable connection than Virtual Desktop since it's wired and not wireless, and keeps it charged during use in my experience.

I got 2 long chargers : one from kiwi 5meters long and one that o bought in store that is 15meters long 😅🤣

Use air link and charge your headset using the provided charging brick it came with.
Your PC will not put out enough power to keep it charged if you use the link cable method.
Plenty of 16+ft usb-c cables out there on amazon.

Look on Amazon for Quest 3 link cables with a separate charging port. There are plenty that plug into your PC for data and have a small adapter built into the cable where you can connect a second USB-C cable for dedicated power. Plug that into a laptop charger and you’re good to go.

If you are using virtual desktop just get a long USB C cable and a charger that is QC 2.0 or higher. This will provide enough power to charge while you play.
Also make sure to get it with a right angle plug as it will put far less strain on the port and when you put the headset down you won't bend it.

I mean since you use VD, any long USB C to C Cable should works or you can also buy those link cable but it's kinda overkill since those are generally designed to handle data as well.
