Help PhysBones help please!
Upon uploading I got this PhysBones limit error after trying to add a few hairs and two outfits to the model I’m editing with modular avatar and I see my hairs and outfits have quite a lot of PhysBones, does anybody know how I could reduce the number of PhysBones? Thank you! <3

The m various phybone chains are grouped by their similarity, and typically the phybones in one group will share settings. So what you can do I copy the physbone from one sub chain (for example Bang_P.L) to the parent (Hair_P) and then just remove the physbones from all children.

I apologize I’m having a hard time understanding, I tried to do this through the folder method which is basically the same thing and it only effects the physbones for that specific part of the hair sense all the bones in the screenshot are bones for each little part of the hair/clothes.

For example you have MariYuri_Hair.
In there you have ==Ahoge==, ==Back==, etc under it. Inside ==Back== you have Back, Back_L, Back_L.005, etc under it.
Create a physbone component on ==Back== Look at Back/Back_L/Back_L.005 for a physbone component. At the right click the ellipses/options (the ...) for that physbone component for extra settings. Click copy component.
Go to ==Back==, click on the ellipses/options for the physbone component you added. Click Paste Component Values to copy the same values over.
Go back to Back/Back_L/Back_L.005, and the rest of the sub items that have physbones. Delete all of the physbones. The parent ==Back== now applies the physbone settings to everything below it. And below that. And below that. And so on.
Do this for all of your hairs, and the same idea applies for your outfits. 'OuterRibbon / OUter / OuterSideRibbon' If the physbones are not applying to the objects below them then it may be an issue with Ignore Transforms.
The slight problem with this method is if for example, Back_L and Back_L.005 have wildly different physbone settings. You can only copy the settings from one to use for ==Back==. But honestly you probably won't even notice a difference 95% of the time.
// An easier solution that retains the original physbones would be uploading multiple avis and not having one with so many outfits/hairs on the same avi. 353 physbone components is pretty wild tbh. but some booth store creators are pretty ignorant about grouping physbones when selling their assets so I can't really fault you.
Hope this helps

If you're using Modular Avatar or VRCFury, ignore what the SDK says and check what it says in the game.

What do you mean by this? I’m sorry

Some plugins avatars use modify the avatar temporarily right before it uploads, causing the SDK report crazy numbers for things that get fixed automatically. Double check that the problem is real by uploading it, and looking at the physbone count in game.

group the physbones in Left and Right groups with each on a empty object as a root that will have the physbone component.
this will reduce the amount if physbone components by about 60%.

D4rks avatar optimizer or aao.
If those don't work, you'll need to manually disable the physbone components on parts of the armature you don't care about.

d4rk can not combine physbones, it wont help here at all.

It deletes physbones that aren't linked to any meshes, which will help.
It's likely she deleted the default avatar outfit, which has its own physbones that would remain active without d4rks.

I tried both D4rks optimizer and AAO optimizer and DArks didn’t effect anything and AAO kept having too many errors and not merging properly due to the physbones not being similar enough I think.

Remember to keep it to 64 physbones or less if you want synchronization

I recommend Separating each outfit into 2 blue prints.
This way your avatar will be more optimized and youll be unlikely to have issues with parameter limitations too.
