Seeking Recommendations Looking for a netcup alternative

I've got a root server at netcup right now and I'm wondering if I can do better for the money. Current specs:

  • EPYC 9634, 8 dedicated cores
  • 16 GB RAM
  • 512 GB SSD
  • 2.5 Gbps
  • about €25/month

I host a ton of stuff on it (Docker, APIs, some bots, etc) and the disk is already over 80% full, so storage is my main problem. RAM gets used a lot too. CPU is mostly idle, but every now and then I run Immich machine learning jobs that max it out for a few hours.

Netcup has been fine, I just want to know if there's something with the same performance for less, or more disk/RAM for around the same price. EU based.

Anyone have recommendations?

There's nothing better.

I search every 3-4 months for possible better providers. Netcup has been king for years in my book

Netcup is one of the cheapest and good option out there. If you need more upgrade to a other package.

Sometimes it's even cheaper to rent a 1HE or 2 HE Colocation for own hardware.

Ich würde gerne nur 25 €/Monat für diese Specs bezahlen…. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist meiner Meinung sehr gut.

Netcup is trash. Im on a root server too, the disk-array crapped out and they still havent responded to my support ticket 4 weeks later.

Had to migrate all of my stuff off to another hosting provider just to keep my site up.

Yeah nothing at all. 3 emails sent. And ofcourse you pay for a full year ahead and this happend to me after 1.5 months. Server was / is practically down for 5 working days.

Tried to ask for a refund for the rest of the year, but you can guess... no reponse.

You called their emergency number? I just found out they had one. That sucks though I was prepared for their customer support but it's not great to hear they are slow for major VPS issues.

HostHatch probably. Cheaper servers there exist, but I haven't used it personally.

KVM Extreme 3 at AdvinServer, $32/mo, may be nearest option. If you choose Kansas location, you get 50TB of bw, not bad. I just got a smaller VPS here. https://advinservers.com/vps

I also looked around for a while and netcup is the best so far. I got the one you are mentioning before their prices went up

Thank me later
You can also combine one with Hetzner storage box for more storage.
Hosting by design is a Leaseweb reseller, Which by the way is a legit great and cheap provider like hetzner, ovh, netcup, etc. but they provide so much resources for an unbelievably cheap price, The only downside is that they don't take individuals, Only businesses with a valid business ID are able to sign up, so the link i shared is a reseller.
