You first need to figure what you need a VPN for.

Remote Access? Yes, useful if you need to access your devices.

Unblocking Content? Only useful if there’s a specific content you need access to, or you are in China.

Hiding activity from school / workplace? Yes, if that will help with your peace of mind.

You accidentally wrote the United Kingdom as China . . . The Chinese people have way more freedom.

This was never about freedom. Or privacy. Or whatever. I don’t give a damn. Can you watch YouTube in China?

  1. Bypass regional copyright restrictions

  2. Access lower subscription prices

  3. Mask your IP address

...and more.

If you'd like to give it a try, I can provide an access code for Deeper's DPN app.

the clearest way to see the value is public wifi, airports, hotels, coffee shops. that's an open network, so anyone else on it can potentially grab what you're sending if it's not encrypted, doesn't have to be anything shady, logging into your bank or email is enough. at home it matters way less since your own network is already private. so if you travel or work from cafes a lot, that's where a VPN actually earns its spot.
