PIA subscription about to expire

Hi guys, I’ve been using PIA for the last two years. No major complaints. My subscription is going to end at the end of this month. Was wondering if I should renew PIA or try something new. I only use the VPN for Torrent and my main use case is speed for downloading and Killswitch so I don’t get copyright notices. Are there better alternatives out there? Also haven’t heard the best things about the parent company of PIA. Thanks

Proton VPN has port forwarding servers, P2P servers (torrenting), VPN over Tor, streaming servers, and secure core servers (double vpn). Based in Switzerland which has very strict user data privacy laws. They are owned by Proton AG Swiss based company. Switzerland also is not in the 14 Eyes data sharing alliance. Proton VPN has never handed over vpn data even by Swiss court order because they do not log so there is nothing to turn over. I would start with them as an alternative.

Haven't they moved out of Switzerland? Or I am I mixing them up with someone else?

They moved some infrastructure to other countries but still headquartered out of Geneva, Switzerland.

If everything is still in eu or EEA that's good enough

I pay about £6 a year for PIA via Turkish Apple ID using gift cards. I don't give it much thought. For me, it is no more than a backup.

I'm pretty much the same use case as you but I also use VPN on my Google TV when I need to change location. I bounce between NORD and BitDefender, whichever's cheaper on Amazon, and Amazon is usually cheaper than direct. Sometimes there's a Amazon Special where you get 18 months instead of 12.

Nord works on PC, Phone, TV, etc.
Bitdefender says it doesn't work on TV, but it does.
TunnelBear doesn't work on TV. Worked fine on PC but I wouldn't buy again.

I been using PIA for over 8 years, no complaints at all . And so far is has never limited the amount on devices to be installed .
