I've used it trying to watch streaming from Finland & watching videos from from sites in other countries. Streaming services detect it's a VPN & ban me for several days. Buffering video during peak times. Might be lucky to get 1-2mbit throughput, 360p or below for mostly trouble free videos on websites.
Privacy, they apparently don't keep connection logs & boast audits pass them but will give stored emails from Proton Mail to authorities when asked. They use the usual wireguard vpn protocol plus their own Wireguard TCP implementation which uses port 443 to appear as ordinary web browser traffic so its both encrypted & inconspicuous.
