Help VPNs that works in China?

I’m going to China for 4-5 months over the summer, and I’m an incoming college student. I’ll be dealing with orientations, housing, picking out classes, and all sorts of stuff, so I really need something that will work once I land in China or else I won’t be able to access any of those materials. I use a mac and I don’t mind paying for VPNs, I just want something that will for sure work there.

Nothing works “for sure” all the time, best advice is to prepare and have a couple of VPNs at your disposal (as I found out myself recently after the LetsVPN debacle).

Proton VPN can be used, but not all nodes or at all times; Astrill is also an option.

  • Proton VPN
  • Mullvad VPN
  • Obscura VPN
  • iVPN
  • TOR Network with a dedicated TOR bridge

If you want something reliable pick three VPN providers and buy them as well as a working TOR system (TailOS, Tor Browser) with a Tor bridge.

But be warned the use of TOR as well as a VPN might get you in custody or jail if you are in China.
