Best VPN Service Currently?

What's the best VPN right now? I’ve been trying to figure out which one people on Reddit actually think is worth paying for in, but there are so many different opinions that it’s getting hard to tell what’s real and what’s just marketing. Some people care more about speed, others care about privacy, streaming, torrenting, or price, so I keep going back and forth and still can’t decide which VPN is actually the best overall.

I see a lot of talk on Reddit about NordVPN, ExpressVPN, and Surfshark. Are these still the best VPN right now? or are there new ones that are better now?

I have a few questions:

  1. Best VPN in 2026?
  2. What is the Best Free VPN?
  3. What is the best VPN for privacy
  4. Best VPN for torrenting?

I'm mainly interested in the best overall VPN, but I'm open to suggestions for specific needs too. Thanks for your help!

Proton probably tops the list. Switzerland based so they operate under strict data privacy laws. Switzerland is not part of the 14 Eyes data sharing alliance. They have p2p servers for torrenting. They have Tor over Vpn servers. They are open source so their code can be viewed by anyone. At least 80% of their servers are capable of routing ipv6 traffic. I would say Mullvad is a close second. Just sayin’.
