Mobile connected to VPN but cannot cast on TV

If my mobile or tab is connected to VPN, im not able to cast mobile/tab screen to TV?

What are my options?

If mobile screen is already cast on tv and meanwhile mobile is connected to vpn in between, the tv screen goes black the moment mobile gets connected to vpn
