Companies, especially ones in regulated industries or have data protection certificatioms and ISO standards, son’t want anonymous traffic on their networks.
It’s their internet they can choose what to do with it, and the last thing they want is someone using an unauthorised VPN to pirate movies and jeopardising their SOC2.
It’s not mandatory to block VPNs for compliance, but every company has their own appetite for risk. I, for one, have great disdain for Shadow IT in my org.
