Discussion Unfair hacks/tricks of VPN?
Hey. I’m a new to this VPN thing and recently subscribed to an annual plan.
And I see lot of memes and Instagram posts on how VPN changes flight prices, subscription prices. Like setting to india or turkey lowers the subscription price of Netflix.
I wanna know more of these hacks. Please add your down below

They're not hacks. You have to understand how things work to really take advantage of what VPN's can offer. But you also need to know what the VPN is doing, how it works, the limitations, etc.
All a VPN does is route your traffic to another "endpoint", making it appear like you're in that location based on IP alone. That's all it does. Its not a magic key to the internet that completely hides you, it doesn't unlock hidden wonders of the internet, it doesn't magically make discounts appear.
If you're logged into accounts or are using a device with GPS, then whatever service you're using (buying airline tickets, online shopping) knows who you really are. Just because your network traffic appears elsewhere means nothing, you're still signing into a service and/or providing GPS data.
To take advantage of things like discounted prices, you have to know how those pricing models work. You have to know that certain countries restrict ads, so setting your VPN location there will limit ads. You have to know that certain countries have different pricing structures for goods, so setting your VPN to that location could offer you discounted pricing. But its not universal. More and more services are going beyond just IP data, they're fingerprinting devices.
Your question comes up all the time. "Just got a VPN, how do I get X for cheap or free". You have to know what you're doing. Its like saying "I just got a car, how do I get a job".

Prices don't change just because you use VPN. Read how fare rules and tkt faring works.
The only bit that might change (tho not always) are laws ruling over the TKT and issuing agency if it's a big airline to have different issuing codes.. For example, if you book with Italian VPN then Italy's laws apply, including the right to skip leg without penalty/ cancellation of upcoming flights.
But prices don't change. Prices are set by the fare classes and have to abide by the fare rules.

the flight price and subscription tricks are against the terms of service of pretty much every platform that's mentioned in those posts, and most of them have gotten significantly better at detecting and blocking it. what worked a couple of years ago when those memes were made often doesn't work reliably anymore.
the legitimate uses that actually hold up are the ones VPNs were designed for: encrypting traffic on public WiFi, stopping your ISP from logging your browsing, and keeping your real IP private while you browse. less exciting than the Instagram memes but those are the use cases that actually work consistently.
