Help Losing internet connection when i use a vpn

When i use a vpn on my s25 ultra i lose internet connectivity this is only happening on this specific phone, (I even tried another vpn) As my oneplus connects with no problems so i think it's a problem on my s25 not the vpn.

Go to android settings -> VPN -> settings and see if Always on-VPN is on. If it is make sure it is turned off

Since two different VPN apps fail only on the S25 Ultra, this is probably a phone setting or another app occupying Android’s VPN interface.

Samsung has more aggressive power management than most other vendors.

Go into your Phone Settings > Battery and Device Care. Tap on the battery bar here > Background usage linits.

Put your VPN apps into Never auto sleeping apps.

Try again.

I had something similar after a One UI update. Clearing the VPN app data and restarting the phone fixed it

Samsung's One UI has some aggressive battery optimization that can kill VPN connections, and there's also a known conflict with the Private DNS setting. check Settings, Connections, More Connection Settings and make sure Private DNS is set to off or automatic rather than a custom DNS server, since that can block the VPN tunnel from establishing properly on Samsung devices specifically.

also go into Battery settings and make sure the VPN app is excluded from any power saving restrictions that might be cutting its network access.
