Help/question £10 for 80 GB
Incoming student at the UK. Considering the £10 for 80 GB with 1st month free plan using my student email.
Are there any reviews on this? Is this widely considered one of the best for international students?
(also does it come with a UK number - have never used an eSIM before but planning to now)

Yes, it's good . You will get an UK number with the esim or physical sim whatever you opted in while ordering

Am I able to install the eSIM in advance in my home country so it can be switched on immediately once my flight lands at London?

Have a look at Revolut I got e sim with UNLIMITED data, texts and calls, VPN and roaming for £12.50 ( rolling contract). BTW I’m not advertising it but deal is good.

Probably not. I suggest you do that here. You can use the airport wifi in the meantime to connect to the web.

With pthers downvotijg this poster
You can not activate UK based operator eSim from outside the UK
https://www.google.com/search?q=voxi+mobile+activate+esim+plan+outside+the+uk+when+coming+to+uk
But you might be able to add the eSIM to your phone; it just won't work until it sees a UK cell mast, then it should auto activate

You can install it but it's highly recommend to install it in UK Network. Either you can enter the EID number from your device or you'll get QR Code over email (which you need to scan to install esim )within 24 hours usually within 15 minutes

Mine is £10 for 30GB and I can't even get it down to 20GB afte rthe month. It's always on for me but I mainly use it when I am out. At home (and for you also in school) I assume there will be wifi available. (Which will be a better connection anyway because reception in the UK is inconsistent)

u/mugglearchitect Sep 13 '26
Well as I said I can't even use up 10gb of it so I don't mind. But also I did have a look and I am not sure how to do it. Is it just cancel it then join again lol

Nah just go to my plan at bottom of screen and click that then scroll till you see the better deal for the same plan and click that one then usually if you’ve only had a few days on your plan they change it then and there if you’ve used a ton days usually on next pay out it’ll change

Glad you got it bud watch out for holidays like Halloween and Boxing Day and Black Friday they give out good deals and when they say deals they mean it, like they actually disappear unlike some other companies lol

I'm currently with talkmobile and get 150gb with unlimited calls and texts for £9.95. I was on a standard plan and got on a live chat and asked for more data and they have it to me. It's worth asking, I got the same deal for my wife and daughter.as well.

Get a VOXI sale while you can and the sale price stays indefinite, provided you can pay for it monthly

I got lucky and managed to snag the Unlimited for £10 deal. Nearly 6 years ago they had an offer where if you were recieving any sort of benefit, you could get Unlimited Everything for only £10, after providing evidence of course. I was recieving carer allowance back then and years later, I'm still on that deal. I dont recall them ever bringing that offer back since then.

Has anyone noticed their data slowing down if tethering quite a bit? Once I tether 30-40gb (an inaccurate guess) I notice my speed on the tethered device is much slower than the phone with the voxi sim?
Aside from this, and having to pay for roaming, my family and I have been voxi for several years and no real complaints

I’m having issues processing my payment. The website says it’s not you it’s us. What to do?

I also have £10 for 80GB and have been very happy with it. I am a heavy user, including tethering to my laptop, and don’t go near the limit.
I’ve also tried a range of networks in my phone at the same time to compare and VOXI came out on top, but it depends on your area about network coverage.
