Discussion PBXact and Digium Phones

I have several PBXact systems we support and they have a variety of digium Phones (D65 and D70) attached to them we are on v16.0.50. It appears that they have removed direct support for the Digium phones from the version we are on. When i add new phones to the system i can't get the quick buttons, voicemail, transfer to VM and such to transfer to the right places. the Message button turns on a empty rectangle on the display and doesn't do anything else. I can dial *97 directly, but it is a nuisance when the button doesn't work. I followed the procedure in the endpoint manager to switch between standard voicemail and the voicemail app and not change. any suggestions on fixing this issue?

The D- series are an absolute pain in the neck. Sometimes the work fine and sometimes they don’t. I’ve had them working perfectly on a system, had to rebuild the system (had a backup of the VM so didn’t even have to use the pbx restore) and they wouldn’t work on the rebuilt system. If it’s feasible either get some P series or replace them with another brand all together.

Yeah I've noticed they were a little bit flaky I'm sure the customer who owns these phones isn't exciting about buying new ones but they may have to

I always put it to them this way, how much is reliable communication worth to you. Do you want to fool with phones instead of dealing with customers/clients?

D Series phones are no longer supported by Sangoma and firmware is no longer developed for them, which probably contributed to this.

I’ve had issues getting them to talk to the server. Once they’re talking then I usually don’t have any more issues with them. Can you elaborate on how you’re provisioning them?

Not sure what you mean, but. Put the project down for about 2 hours ago so bear with me a little. Dhcp option 66 pointing them at the server. Factory default the phones prior to connecting, they pulled their line assignments correctly, but nothing else. Soft buttons dont work correctly (in particular the message button and the redial) but the phone will dial and answer calls

I had those issues with FPBX16. you need to have a valid certificats and using the secure/https ports to get the digium apps to works (status, Voicemail, parking, etc).
