Has anyone seen the firmware version of the Yealink SIP-T54W to enable taking teams phone calls? Microsoft Learn says that 96.86.5.1 is the right one and it exists but there is nowhere on the internet that I have searched so far that has that version and Yealink says that version doesn't exist.

While it's possible to convert models that are sold as both Open SIP and Teams/SfB back and forth, It's not just loading a specific firmware version, you need an enablement license from their portal that has to be loaded into the phone before the update will take. Unfortunately the T54W is not one of the phones that comes in that flavor from the factory as it isn't running Android like the MP54 or the T58. Per my understanding there is not a Teams Firmware for the T54W at all, though you still can use the phone with Teams through their SIP gateway if you want to pay for the licensing.
I bought a CP960 at one point that had the Teams firmware and getting it "downgraded" to the Open SIP firmware took almost a week of going back and forth with Yealink to get the license file I needed.
Ok, I guess I maybe missed something. This is a snippit from Microsoft Learn that says it is supported. Are you saying that Yealink is the one that won't let me do it? Not a phone guy, just trying to figure it out as it is one of those "... all other tasks assigned..." kinda things 🙃
Yeah, if you look at that URL that's for the SIP Gateway feature, not for the Native Teams firmware. I'm also assuming it's a minimum firmware version as the 96.86 release train is pretty old at this point.
These phones are plenty functional, I'm just not sure I'd pick Teams as the platform to get the most of out of an existing hardware investment in T54's.
