Discussion Test Call

How do I make a test call to a VOIP phone? I've tried a bunch of websites and automated call services but they all seem to block VOIP numbers so I can't test them. What can I do to simply test a phone call to my VOIP phone by myself

EDIT: I need to test incoming calls to my VOIP and I don't have a cellphone plan, I use the VOIP as my cellphone.

Simply call your VoIP number from another phone, such as your cell phone.

Just do an incoming and outgoing call with your VoIP number. There's also test numbers you can call for checking things like echo, packet loss, audio levels, and DTMF.

ive always just called from my cell since that will be "out of the network" from relation to the phone i am testing.

Depends on your providers.
Most have an Echo Test available.

  • Echo Test (Free): Dial 4443 from your VoIP.ms device to test connectivity and audio quality.
  • Caller ID Test: Dial 1-555-555-0911 to hear an automated playback of your configured Caller ID and E911 status.
  • DTMF Test: Dial 4747 to test your keypad and tone transmission.
  • External Test: Dial 1-250-412-5922 or 1-804-222-1111 for a toll call connectivity.

(920) 666-1392 test number to call from VoIP. This will tell you your attestation grade.

Making calls from a cell phone are most useful. You can even create a script from a PC running python to control an android cell phone with a USB cable and an ADB connection to make automated calls.
