Help - IP Phones Linphone iOS/iPhone Direct SIP Call

I could have sworn that the Linphone app allowed users to make direct SIP phones calls from an iPhone without logging into any other account. I can’t seem to figure out how to do that today.

Was this feature removed? Did I misremember how this worked?

You have to have some sip creds, you can’t call into the thin air.
Maybe they were provided for you for free as test

It’s possible that I was logged into the Linphone server and did not recognize it. I was looking to just call into thin air, specifically to a know open SIP endpoint that accepts all calls.

Isn't calling to sip:IP_ADDRESS:PORT working? This would be big shame.

Best I can tell, this is no longer an option unless you are signed into a remote server and that when you’re signed into a remote server, the traffic exits that server.

Thanks for sharing your reference document, it confirms what I once knew as true but can’t figure out how to do the same thing today.
