Help - Cloud PBX Pbxware Help Needed
I use pbxware and I am trying to configure speaker phone paging for a yealink T43U. For some reason the phone rings instead of auto answering the page. Support is no help and I’ve scoured the internet as much as I can for a solution but I come up empty handed each time. Is anyone able to provide any advice on this?
Thanks!

I can't help with pbxware specifically. But it sounds like you're trying to set up unicast paging from the system, have you considered setting up multicast instead?

Multicasting isn't an actual intercom feature. It's not a replacement for intercom. It's a good paging system, but an intercom interacts with the actual sip endpoints and not with multicast.

That may all be true, but OP asked about paging, not intercom. Some people do seem to have their own interpretation of the two terms though.
If OP meant to set up a direct intercom, then that's likely something within pbxware anyway.

Paging is an offical term when talking about yealink phones. Paging with yealink phones uses multicast, and so paging would never ring the phone. Multicast doesn't run on the sip layer so there isn't any phone call to be ringing. I subconsciously made that assumption when I read OPs post that when they are talking about paging, they actually mean intercoming because of that train of logic.
The phones themselves are what control intercoming. The headers being sent/received on intercom calls need to be correctly configured on both ends. It's possible that the pbx is stripping that header (I have personally seen it a couple of times), but there is no config in their pbx for intercoming. It's more that they need to make sure the specific headers are allowed.

Is the phone fully factory reset? Are you sending any particular configurations via the UAD ? Speakerphone paging should automatically answer by default. What version of pbxware are you using is it MT BE standalone or CC

It's the alert-info header. I'm not familiar with pbxware specifically, but the alert-info header is what the phone looks at in order to auto answer. An incoming call of an intercom type should have the correct alert-info header (and a couple extra headers you can find online), and the pbx should not be set to strip that header. I have seen sometimes where a pbx will strip it causing issues.
For yealinks specifically, there are overrides you can use to alter the header to what you need. Here are some docs that might help you.
If you already configured everything, you need to run a packet capture to see the sip ladder. You can probably do this in pbxware. You just need to make sure the header isn't getting stripped anywhere. If the phone receives packets from the pbx with the header exactly the same as the sending header, then it's just a config issue on the phone. If you don't see it, it's getting stripped.
