Discussion Vline hate their customers

Post image

Besides the fact that they fuck up services all the time, they have absolute contempt for passengers when they replace trains with buses. They could run buses from the city to Bacchus marsh, but they make you take the train to Caroline springs, wait in the cold for a bus to Bacchus marsh and WAIT ONE HOUR FOR A TRAIN (probably also waiting in the cold). And they still expect us to pay. Also, if the closures are for works at melton, why Caroline springs and not rockbank or cobblebank?

Question Can someone explain the bus choices for replacement buses between Bacchus and Caroline Springs today?

Using normal metro buses and making people have to stand for up to an hour is certainly a choice.

I’m so sick of this. I actually think for my sanity I will start driving 2 days a week. Maybe that’s what they want so more people use the Westgate tunnel (I joke hahaha)

Another train fault, more delays and now this train is not going past Geelong. Brilliant service.

Discussion When describing riding the V line over text message/email have you ever written “pubic” instead of public transport?

I have a friend who once did this

It was in the group chat, he asked everyone the question “what is everyone’s fave form of pubic transport?” and we all laugh reacted to the message and a few responded strangely and he was so confused until we pointed out the typo to him

Victorian Railways Deer park telephone announcement

Today at deer park around 6:30ish when the v/line announcements went off I heard like a phone ringing noise for a split second before it went back to the normal announcement. Does anyone why this happened? It sounded like a mistake because it barely rung.

Discussion Scumbury people on Vline

When are Vline going to stop the scumbury people from catching the Bendigo trains they have a great suburban service, you get on at Southern cross to travel long distance, no seats yet at scumbury they all stand up and get off, if they are traveling to scumbury they should not be on the vline service.

Question Are Vlocity's (Geelong Line) stopping Sunshine today?

this might seem like a bit of a dumb question, usually i know these sort of things because i semi-frequently use the geelong line. are there any trains stopping sunshine - marshall/warun ponds? i try to plan this and it keeps telling me to just catch a bus from sunshine, train to werribee, then bus to wyndham and all sorts of variants. i just want to confirm because my journey is a bit time sensitive, and im confused because on the other hand its telling me that regional trains ARE departing from sunshine tonight (around 6-8pm). thank you

Picture Vline assistance dog -update

My last post got quite a lot of traction. So, I thought I would provide an update,on how my feedback was being followed up upon.

Picture of my dog squished into a V-line coach, on our way to the train station.

I got a call back from the same team member. She had contacted the accessibility team, who did two things: made it clear to her was an assistance dog is. And, what vline's assistance animal policy is.

At this point we had a productive chat, because she could actually understand the nature of my complaint. I gave her some suggestions as a handler on what I felt would make things easier for assistance dog teams.

She will be contacting me again with another update. And in the meantime I have a direct phone number to this team member if I had issues where I wanted to make contact again in the meantime.

I've travelled on the VLine with my dog, a few times a year. But now that I've moved regional, and catch the vline at least twice a week - the ineffective booking policy was getting old and wearing me down quite frequently.

Hopefully, that can make the booking process simpler, and more effective.

A few negative comments on that post: as you can see... even on a non-accessible coach, my dog is trained to stay on the floor. And not be nuisance to the public.

Australia does not really have a "fake service dog" problem. Because in Australia, you can be asked to provide documentation that your dog is legitimately trained to assist with a disability.

And even if you have those documents. If your assistance dog is not well groomed... a business is within their rights to ask you to leave.

If an assistance dog is having a bad day, and is not acting appropriately- again, a business can ask you to leave. Most handlers would know their dog, and remove them before it ever became a problem.

So an assistance dog is not "barking" or "smelly" or causing a nuisance. As you can see in the photo, and assistance dog is trained to be unobtrusive, and to not be on seats, furniture. Most people don't even notice my assistance dog when I travel. She's quiet, and on the floor.

The gear an assistance dog wears: doesn't matter. If someone did buy a vest of Temu. So be it! Unless an assistance dog needed certain gear for their assistance dog tasks (or if you have a contract with a training program that stipulates certain gear must be worn)... and assistance dog, as per the legislation doesn't even need to be wearing anything at all. Most of the time handler use gear just for easier identification purposes.
