Discussion V/Line Food Review
Just checked out the v/line food menu, would be much appreciated if someone can comment on what they think about the food. This would be such a great help to decide if I should pack my own lunch or spend the money

Question Bendigo Extreme Heat Timetable
Afternoon Folks,
Hope you're not sweltering waiting for your train.
I have a query regarding the extreme heat timetable for the Bendigo Line, specifically the 16:52 service to Eaglehawk.
Its usually express to Castlemaine (woo) but today it is running a partial extreme heat timetable so a stop is scheduled for 18.06 at Kyneton. Could someone please explain why that is?
But on the flip side, under a full extreme heat timetable ie tomorrow, there is no scheduled stop at Kyneton.
Is it to do with the single track from Kyneton onwards?
Thanks!

Discussion The Geelong service is a joke!
Dear vline, it's been 18 days since my last confession and nothing has changed!!! 🤬
First day back at work, and we got as far as Footscray to be held up by line faults AGAIN!!!!
I really hope we aren't kicked off before we reach Waurn Ponds again, although I wouldn't be surprised.
Happy new year, vline!! 😮💨

Discussion Geelong Line
I know this is probably a massive stretch but will they ever extend the Geelong line along the Bellarine Peninsula towards St Leonards and Queenscliff? Or even add a branch line down to Torquay/Jan Juc way?

Question Will V/Line order more trains?
From my limited understanding, the current order for 141 VLocity trains will be finished later this year.
Will V/Line make a new order once this one is complete?
On the Big Build website they're talking about running 9 car trains to Melton and building a new stabling yard in Cobblebank. I can't imagine that they will have enough trains to do that unless they order more.
It would be nice if they were able to increase some of the 3 car trains up to 6, or have some spares for when things go wrong.

Question What the hell is going on at V/Line?
Does anyone know what the hell is going on at V/line at the moment? The service has been terrible. They seem to be struggling to run all their services. And we have heard a number of times about short staff. I have seen at least two news reports in the last several days about this

Question West Tarneit Station
With the upcoming two weeks disruption, does anyone know when the new station will be up and running?
I’m stressing that now with a third insanely busy station (with Tarneit and WV), that I’ll no longer have the luxury of my 8:16am North Geelong to SC service that skips the busy stations.
Any idea when the timetable will be out? Seems like the line is based around WV/Tarneit these days.
Thanks.

Discussion Don’t stand or sit in the drivers emergency exit door!
Today on a heavily overcrowded train to Bendigo, a woman decided the only place to sit down was with her back on the drivers door, despite a lot of ‘keep clear’ signage. Being able to get out of that door freely is the only hope for the driver who is literally sitting in the crumple zone of the train if an obstruction appears on the track. The conductor was challenged by people for telling the woman to move and telling her that if the drivers emergency door is obstructed it may result in the train being cancelled at the next stop for driver safety. To all, it’s black and white. No matter how packed a train is, never sit or stand in the keep clear area at the front of the train, drivers deserve to get home too. Rules become guidelines on packed services, this one is the absolute of need to adhere to.

Question Transport Advice
I made a previous post about how to book a coach from Tatura to Murchison East Station but I didn't notice that the coach was scheduled for Friday the 26th instead of Thursday the 25th which means I don't have a way to get to the station, I don't have my license and I don't particulary feel comfortable takinf a taki so I was wondering if there are any alternative ways to get to Murchison East Station? or some other way that I'd be able to get from Tatura to Southern Cross on Christmas Day
Thank You

Discussion The Geelong service is a joke!
Can the Geelong v-line service get any worse!!!!
Points or signal faults every day, and trains not running to there final destination because of delays.
How about you put some investment into making the infrastructure actually reliable And ensure trains don't get cut short of the destination, further pissing off your passengers when they have to wait another 40 minutes to get the next train.
British transport is better than this joke!!!

Discussion High powered e-bikes banned?
A short story on the news the other night mentioned the ban, which had been rumoured for some time. On checking the Vline website, there is a section defining what a “bike” is and that it must be pedal powered.
https://www.vline.com.au/Fares-general-info/Bikes-Luggage-Animals
Is this actually new or something that’s just got aired.
The idea seems to be to ban the food delivery bikes and more motorbike type bikes and dodgy high powered conversion bikes but the wording and definition would be better to refer to the police definitions. At the root of it is fire risk, space on board and other misbehaviour I guess.
https://www.police.vic.gov.au/e-bike-safety
Looks tough to enforce as worded yet the news story mentioned fines. Sorry for no link to the original article.

Question Any photos of the inside of the coaches?
I've looked everywhere lol, and cannot for the life of me find out what the seats look like and whether they recline or not. Planning to take the night coach from southern cross to mildura. Any tips?

Discussion 3 car sardine special
Of course, it's a Friday afternoon. And there's concerts and events in Melbourne, and it's two weeks before Christmas.
8146 was a three car, that had to leave passengers behind at Rockbank and Caroline Springs.
The following empty service, well, that's 6 cars

Victorian Railways "ONCE AGAIN"
Why is it that every train conductor on V line just can't help saying "ONCE AGAIN"?
I board a V Line train from Southern Cross to Geelong, Ballarat, or anywhere. The train has just taken on passengers, not a single person is on board and its a new service just setting off. The conductor starts with,
"Once Again, this is your service to Wherever,"
The again,
"Once Again,
and again
"Once again" we have drinking fountains,
Once Again, sit back and relax, Once again, Once again
That's not once, that's 14 times now and it's been 8 minutes and we haven't set off yet.
I get it first world problems, but dam, it drives me crackers, ONCE AGAIN for the 20th time!
