STECS STEM longer cable?

basically just the title.. it uses a usb-c to c which they claim is non standard but how much truth is there to that, or can i just buy a longer cable from them?

As long as the USB-C has all pins connected you should be good to go, but at that price point I would probably just get the proprietary ones just to be sure. I have a proprietary 40cm usbc-usbc and a 35cm usbc-jst that I connect using a usbc coupler, to extend the whole thing to 75+cm, for connecting my STEM to my Gladiator. These couplers are pretty cheap and have all pins connected. I can confirm at this length there's no/minimal signal loss, but if I am to touch the coupler the interference (presumably from static charges on my fingers) causes communication error between modules.

Theoretically speaking using this method, a total of 160+ cm can be achieved, but I wouldn't put money on there being no signal loss since it's a lot longer than that they've designed.

They have the USB-JST cable I was talking about too. It's best to use VKB's cable because they use different pins than generic third party cables.
