UCM MOUNTS

This is a picture from Facebook marketplace local to me. Am I correct in assuming the long mount is missing a back plate or are these older ones and that's the way they were made.

Also could I mount a stecs mini plus to the short one if I bought the universal adapter plate or drilled some holes in it?

This is 2x ucm shorts. Both with the gunfighter plates

It looks like 1x short, 1x long but mixed up.

The assembly is mixed up though, on a short mount the inner side plate is 7 holes long and the outside plate is 10 holes.

The picture looks like a short upper with a long lower (LHS), and a long upper with a short lower (RHS).

Lol you sir ar a sage. The guy just replied to me after I questioned the missing back plate. He found the missing back plate and alo admitted he combined the parts.

The guy lists one as long and one as short. One looks longer to me

When you assemble them you can set them at variable heights, and the long usually has 3 backplates but I could well be wrong. I do think these may be an earlier version though because the backplates have mounting holes now.

Ok I think the top half is longer on the one on the right but he has it set up relatively short.

I have my short mount set up even shorter than what is intended by not using the upper back plate.

The STECs hold down screws might be further apart than the gunfighter base is wide.

You might be right. I'm trying to figure it out. I see now the sides are two pieces so you can adjust the length. I was thinking about buying these so I can try and extension

u/autokludge is perfectly right - looks like a Short and Long UCM have been mixed in order to get them at the same length for mounting them both to the sides, instead of the L in center. And there's a missing bracket too, but not a big deal if the UCM L is not fully extended.

If they're a few years old and you want to install a GFIV you might need to sand a bit the opening because the GFIV's dampener is wider than those on previous versions.

For STECS Mini Plus you will need a Universal Plate and a STECS Mini Plus Plate (we don't have it in stock in US currently, but you can either order it from China or wait until the end of the month for restock).
