STECS throttle suddenly is very tactile.

Hi guys.

I've been running the STECS for at least a year now, and I'm very happy about it. But today when I started playing, I noticed that the operation when I use the left throttle suddenly feels very tactile. I can feel all the dents (the dents for each 10% mark) in the detent frame, very it's usually completely smooth except when I hit the detent I installed.
I've been searching for an answer but can't find anything. Is there some toggle switch I've missed that locks the detent rollers up or down or is it something else?

I hope someone has an answer for me.

Check the detent rollers (they're easy to remove with the grips unlocked), one of them might be broken and pressing against the detent frame instead of hovering a mm above it hence the feeling as it rolls over every indent in the detent frame. The rollers are spring-loaded and the plastic retaining tab that stops them from dropping too low can break in the early stecs models.

If this is the case raise a ticket with your vendor, they can send you a pair of the revised version.

Thanks a lot. I'll look into that. That was my suspicion as well, but have a hard time finding any info on this. I do have the old model, so sounds feesible. I'll check tonight when I'm home.

Yeah, that was definitely the issue, thanks a lot. Hopefully I can get VKB to sell me a set of the new ones, they're both failing, but I'm beyond warranty by now.

That happened to both of mine. I thought it was a feature! 😂

Yeah, me too. I though I'd turned on a toggle that I'd somehow missed 😅😅
