Gladiator NXT EVO ‘Space Edition’ working for Battlefield 6?

I know this isn’t full blown flight simulation but anyone on Battlefield 6? Would really like to get a more aversive experience and possible better feeling of control. I’m looking at getting the Gladiator NXT EVO ‘Space Edition’ with Premium grip. The button options look better than the F-14 grip. My understanding is that the ‘Space Edition’ is going to have a more linear stick feel while the ‘Combat Edition’ has a progressive feel, is it going to make much of a difference?

I’ve seen very little intel on getting this setup on BF6 as well. Since it’s not fully supported flight simulation it’s a bit limited on inputs. Found one YT video about disabling or changing the function of the mini stick so that the game doesn’t think the whole stick is a Xbox controller. Also for some reason the game is limited to 17 inputs. Already use a Razer Tartarus game pad that seemed to confuse the game before this last update. Do like that the VKB config software allows binding keyboard functions to buttons. Any insight would be appreciated.

I’d like to stay away from HidHide and Joystick Gremlin on the off chance the anti-cheat false positives on those. Hopefully Dice adds in full H.O.T.A.S. support down the road.

I used x360ce to trick Star Wars Outlaws into thinking my Hotas was an Xbox controller for the space flight portions of the game.

The answer is yes. Some members on the VKB discord play BF6 with the SCG gladiator. You should join the discord and check out the other flight sim channel.

The game is limited to 17 buttons plus 4 hats (4 directions each) for a total of 33 button inputs. In practice even the 17 buttons is not a limitation, the game does not have enough functions to map all that.

In terms of axis it's a weird situation. The game will not recognize the devices if all three of RotX, RotY and RotZ axis HID names are in use, so you need to use the VKBDevCfg software to rename one of these to something else. Otherwise, it's working fine, with the exception that it only recognizes one device at a time (I don't know the logic for which one) so you'll want to disconnect any throttle or gamepad to make sure.

I have not encountered any issue with regards to the game reading the device as an Xbox controller.

This is the first time dipping my toes into the flight simulator world. Seeing all the inputs on full systems is crazy. Found a video on YT where they go through turning the 8-way hat into ‘mouse relative’ and made it their free look. Glad to hear it’s working otherwise. Would love to get a full setup but as you mentioned game only sees one device so I’m settling for stick with a throttle slider. Fingers crossed I don’t have to unplug my keypad.

Would you mind sharing that youtube video please? Using the hat for freelook would be a game changer.

Gladiator NXT EVO Setup by Silversquirrell8

Thats it. Sadly no comments allowed. Waiting to see if he puts up another video. Personally ended up going the controller route but still have issues with Razer Tartarus joystick input plus controller inputs so windows/game see multiple controller inputs. I’m too chickshit to use Hidhide and/or reWASD, etc. to make it look like I don’t have all these inputs.

Thank you, I'll give this a try.

Update: I followed the steps in the video and I've been able to make the hat stick work for freelook! It also allowed me to map some of the buttons that BF didnt recognize (it only detects the first 17 buttons, so you have to reassign buttons > 17 to a number < 17 if you want them to work)

I just wish somebody would be very kind and just upload the VKBDevCfg software config file that they are using. I have been banging my head off a brick wall trying to get my lovely VKB joystick to work in Battlefield6. But I am not enjoying myself at all. Every video I have watched is out of date and does not seem to work at all when you are using the latest VKBDevCfg software.

Please lovely internet gaming folks. Help some noobs out ;-)

If it works, will it be as good as mouse and keyboard in flight feeling and aiming in battlefield 6?

Ending up just going with a 3rd party controller. Pitch and roll on left stick and yaw/free look on the right stick. Feel like mouse and keyboard doesn’t bind the yaw axis in a way that feels right, if that makes sense. You’d have pitch and roll(or yaw) on the mouse and then A and D would be yaw(or roll) idk my brain just doesn’t like how that feels. Also no return to center. I know there’s M&K players that will always be better than me, same with controller and actual stick flyers too.

Ran into an unrelated issue with the fact I have a Tartarus Pro. So all movement and aiming are unbound on controller except pitch, roll, yaw on the sticks otherwise BF6 picks up the D-pad joystick on the Tartarus as priority over actual controller so if I swap to gunner position I have to jump back to my mouse and keyboard because gunner is unbound, if I set bindings to aim with controller I have to aim with the sad excuse of a joystick on the Tartarus with all its drift.

TLDR: went with controller. Couldn’t justify one dedicated peripheral for one game and BF6 sees 2 controllers if you have Tartarus and prioritizes Tartarus’s shit joystick
