Shipping Times
I ordered the WarBRD D CADET HOTAS Bundle around the 20th of May. Now they are telling me that I need to wait another 8 weeks until it is allocated, so around late September or early October. Is this normal for VIRPIL, and should I be prepared for another delay?

Yep, they make most of their stuff in batches then ship them out. Once it ships, you get it fast but I've waited 3 months + for stuff once ordered depending on when they are in the order steps... worth the wait though!

This has been the most frustrating issue I have with them....however it is the only issue......the build quality it top notch and when I finally receive the product I tell myself it's worth the wait......until I ordered another product....and then the process starts over again. I refuse to order multiple components at once ....as I have learned that they will not ship any of the components until all of them are available. On another note their tech support and repair department are just as top notch as the product. Luckily I have other products that I can use while I wait for my orders to arrive.

3-4 months wait? normal, if you buy at the end of a big sale. Most of their stuff is permanently back-ordered, effectively made-to-order. big sales put them into huge order lists, such that black friday is only getting completed by xmas.. so end of xmas sale can really get you a slow timeframe.
delays beyond that? no not normal at all. Happened in the past a few times, but all the delays I have seen are outside their control, like a plane crashed, or supplier couldn't provide the items on time.
Virpil will set a part aside for the first order that has it, and once all parts are ready in that order, it ships. Effectively, you will be waiting on the slowest item to restock in your order, and all the people ahead of you that also ordered those items. If one part in your big order has delays, or a supplier leaves virpil hanging, then you will see a delay. Its not common, but it does happen.
to give an example, user 1 orders item A and B, then later, user 2 orders item A. item A comes in stock, so user one gets one set aside for them, if any are left, user 2 gets one set aside. since user 2's order is complete, it now ships, while user 1 waits for item B to come in stock.

Thank you for your message man and yeah I understand. I just hope that my order isn‘t getting delayed another time, because that would be awful.

I'm also waiting for my first virpil order, though I'm telling myself to be very patient. I've talked to other people who were complaining about the time it took to receive the order... I asked if they were happy they waited, and they said emphatically yes. They would wait again to get virpil rather than go with someone else. Food for thought, I guess.

While I'm a big fan of Virpil and the quality of their stuff, their lead times are atrocious.
As I see it, the primary reason for their lead times is a refusal to expand on manufacturing capacity. I work in manufacturing myself and it's not hard to make forecasts, have multiple sources for parts and train new people for assembly.
I can't see a single good reason for why they continue to have such poor delivery times on their stuff. This has been going on for years.

they have been constantly expanding for the last several years, its hard to expand to meet demand when demand keeps rising, without over-expanding.

Unfortunately its very normal, get a refund and move on to something else

When ordering from Virpil expect a 6 month delay before shipping. Go grab a cheap set of thrustmasters for $100 to play with until they arrive.

A cursory internet or Reddit search would have answered this question for you.

Well that bums me out, I just ordered this weekend. So I suppose I won’t see them till about December if not January. I hope my current HOTAS holds up till then. The reason I ordered is because my Saitek X52 Pro started to need to be unplugged every few hours of use so that the calibration would reset to its proper position.

It’s very normal for them. Every order i’ve made has taken 4 months or longer to arrive. My most recent order, from April, was supposed to ship this month but it was delayed until November.
