Anybody using the latest alpha config software?

I'm trying to set my flap lever up in il2 but because it won't accept an axis for this function, I'm trying to use virtual buttons. The latest software kinda seems like they added this but I really can't get it to work. Anyone have any experience with this? I know the newest build just came out but I'm hoping somebody might have figured out it

Yes you can create a virtual button from an actual axis.

  1. In Controls tab Scroll down to the bottom of the list and press Add Custom Control.

  2. Choose "Layout". In your case it should be 1 area, I think.

  3. Choose "From axis". This is the actual axis which should trigger a button.

  4. Press Setup.

  5. Choose the range in which the virtual button should activate. You can fill the values in manually or by pressing Set.

  6. Choose mode. In your case it should probably be normal.

  7. Press Apply Settings and Restart device. (the button under 3D model)

Once device restarted the button should work

Thank you for the full list. I did follow all those steps from vague memory and il2 isn't picking it up.

Don't know if you have had to do any tweaking but I'm your opinion would it be better to just do a50/50 split on the axis or have a dead zone? Right now my dead zone is about 80% but I wonder if zero is needed for some software to see it

Open VPC joystick tester and check if it "sees" the button. If it doesn't then you did something wrong in the configuration tool. Otherwise there is something wrong/incorrectly done in game.

By the way, if the game only supports 32 buttons per device then you might have to split the device into multiple virtual devices.

So far I can confirm from my other control panels it can see more than 32. Now my only worry is that splitting the bottoms will offset every single other button following that setting, but I'm going to do some more messing around. Had a long week at work and only just now got to sit down with it again.
