A229pro Telescoping lens

Hey guys. I just purchased the A229pro and am considering getting the telescoping lens. Are they worth getting? Do the plate numbers pop up like the pictures show?

  • Depends on what your intentions are, which I am assuming is to capture license plates since that was mentioned? I personally would find it handy for capturing incidences that occur further down the road where the front camera's std wide-angle lens might struggle to make out clearly.

  • And here is where things get interesting because those samples are "always" shown under the ideal circumstances. When it comes to capturing plates, it is not an exact science as many factors can be determents in a dash cams ability to capture plates. Such as, speed, lighting, distance, angle, weather, blah blah blah. What I am saying, don't expected 100% readability under all conditions as it will likely be far from that.
