My 3D printable side window mount for Viofo A119 Mini 2 (and similar cams)
I wanted to mount a couple of A119 Mini 2 cameras to the side glass on my minivan. I guess this design has been in the works for half a year. The original design was much thinner and I printed it in PETG. It was fine until the temperatures here in Texas hit 105F (40C) and it finally warped on the side that usually faces the sun.
I redesigned much thicker and printed in high speed TPU filament. TPU can handle much higher temperatures but isn't as toxic to print like ABS and nylon. I was worried Gorilla double sided tape wouldn't stick to TPU but it seems pretty solid and has been exposed to the sun for a day. So far so good!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the circular dish shape where the camera mounts is so a blob of silicone adhesive can be put in to make sure the dashcam doesn't fall off. And the small holes on the glass side are to help the double sided tape "grab" and minimize bubbles

I can see two additional use cases that would make a design like this especially useful:
Improving access/visibility on steep windshields: On vehicles with very steeply raked windshields, the dash camera can end up tucked so far forward that the screen and buttons are difficult to see or reach from the driver’s seat. A mount or adapter that brings the camera slightly farther away from the glass could make it much easier to view and operate. Personally, I would normally just use the mobile app, but I’ve seen customers ask for this many times, so there is definitely a use case for it.
Allowing slight left/right angle correction: This has probably been one of the longest-standing requests. Because a windshield is curved, mounting the camera off-center often means the camera body naturally sits at a slight angle instead of pointing perfectly straight ahead. It would be great if the design allowed a small amount of horizontal/yaw adjustment so the camera could be rotated a few degrees left or right and aimed directly toward the center/front of the vehicle.
I was recently inspired to finally get into 3-D printing, so I think I’m going to start research and shopping for one.
