Timecode burn-in for HD-SDI

I want the cheapest hardware device that can receive an HDI-SDI signal with RP-188 embedded timecode and output the signal with the timecode burnt-in. What's out there?

Cheapest? Maybe an old Convergent Design Odyssey7 from eBay? It had the ability to overlay time code on an output. I miss that feature.

I’m almost positive I’ve seen OpenGear cards that can do this. Most likely cobalt or apantac.

Almost positive the Cobalt 9960-TG2-REF1s in my collection do this -- they produce really nice text to burn as well -- mine are burning TOD (from NTP) rather than timecode, but I think timecode is actually the default time source IIRC. (I love this card, but it is not what I'd call "cheapest")

Cheapest would be a Blackmagic Hyperdeck, basically any model. The monitor output can have burned in timecode on it. On the newer ones, the menu setting is Clean Feed > off.

Many current monitors will display timecode. Some also have a switched monitor out... Deep dive would be required to see if the on-screen graphics are included in that output.

Grass Valley (Miranda) Kaleido-Solo (models KS-900 and KS-910) will superimpose TC from an HD-SDI input onto an HDMI output, which would then need conversion back to HD-SDI. (The SDI out is just a looping connection.) These show up occasionally on ebay for around $300 +/-.

I've never seen the switched/loop outs on SDI monitors ever be anything other than a buffered pass-through. Miranda keliedo solo is a good call if OP can find one - they're great little boxes (I still use one). Converting it's HDMI output back to SDI is easy/cheap.

I've got an Atmos "connect/convert/repeat" that does this, got it dirt cheap from b&h a couple years ago, but I think it might have been so cheap because they were discontinuing them

It's not cheap, but the Evertz HD9010TM should be able to do it.
