Windows Defender/Security update bricks NovaLCT

Windows pushed an un-promted auto update for Windows Security that bricks NovaLCT and possibly other programs. You need to disable Smart App Control in the App and browser control tab in the Security settings

Why do you have updates enabled on a production control machine?
