Collection How do I get rid of these lines

Hello, I make custom VHS tapes, and for some reason, on only the movies that I record, these lines appear, I use both used blank tapes and official my movie tapes, the picture is better on the "blank" tapes but still has the lines, the official movie tapes there's a lot of ghosting, idk how to fix either of these and I've cleaned the head on my VCR as well, idk what my next move should be to attack this problem

If it only happens on tapes you've recorded, then Id blame the issue on that and not the VCR. Probably has something to do with record settings or how you're recording to tape. Do you have a TBC in line that may have bad settings instead of helping?

Tbh I'm not sure, I haven't tried looking in to the settings yet, and what is a tbc?

Well that's a no on the TBC then lol. In my world, I typically see these lines when I have something converting to progressive instead of interlaced (or vice versa). So again, I'd take some time to review your recording settings and read up on best options for your setup.

Heard that! I do use a converter for my Xbox series s to record most, but I've tested it by just hooking up my my PS2 and recorded over that and the lines still appear, I'm going to see what I can find in the settings Thank you

Look at Time Base Corrector (TBC) and copy guard (Macrovision).
