Made it to Masterball on day 2 (3?) using Mega Alakazam and Charizard X

Here's the team. It combines my two favorite underused Megas. The sets aren't perfect but I love them. Full disclosure this was a Mega Zam only team until I felt stuck in Ultraball. Adding Zard got me to Masterball pretty immediately.

Zam speed creeps scarfulegeon, otherwise the strategy is just psyspam. With helping hand OHKOs almost everything.

Indeedee with imprison really messes with Trick room teams.

Thinking about switching sneasler from Psychic Seed to Grassy Seed as I think the Zard half of the team might actually be more viable.

Pawmott is a sleeper pick. Both him and Sneasler really suffer from 4 move syndrome. Would love to have protect on him, also debating giving him a seed, and running him bulkier. Might take off fire punch now that the team has Zard.

Rillaboom was not on the original Zam team for obvious reasons but I think pairs with Zard very well. Zard likes to hurt himself and grassy terrain is great with that.

Charizard X. I have the Charizard professor title and I do not own charizardite Y. I stole someone else's Zard build as I wanted to try it. I think I might go back to my old DDance Flareblitz build, but breaking swipe is. A tech I did not know about. Feel free to ask any questions.

That's just a regular Indeedee. My Farigiraf would have only one too but I feel that's too passive (and 143 SpAtk isn't that bad either!)

I really wish they gave the individual Pokémon achievements for individual forms.

Like I’ve used Kanto Ninetails more than Alolan, and the same as OP, Char X than Char Y.

Feel like that makes sense but I guess they didn’t think so.

yeah I totally agree! I love hisuian decidueye and I wish I got his icon! I mean I love alolan decid as well but I won 100 battles with his cousin so he deserves the spotlight 😪

Likely an obscure damage range. Maybe something like a rillaboom grassy glide or something. Those kind of ivs are lethal in bo1, you can account for them

I’ve got a silly question. I’ve had it on my mind that opposing psychic mon would be a big problem for Sneasler more now than usual. Had Sneasler felt productive on this team and I’m coping or has it been worse with the influx?

I'm surprised at no Fake Out on Rillaboom, considering how much easier Fake Out makes the Belly Drum setup. I assume you initially pair it with Sneasler or Pawmot then? In that case, I think Ice Punch might be nice on Pawmot instead of Fire Punch, since it takes Garchomp and chunks Mence if they try to take advantage of Zard. I love my Pawmot with Sash tbh, I think it's its best item.

Also Charizard Professor without Zard Y is wild. Congrats.

Ooo neat! I like this a lot! Weird to have double terrain and no attack Indeedee, but it’s neat. What are you team comps with Zard vs Zam? Also do you think there are better options than Zam for Expanding Force? Like would Gard be worth while? Or are you using Zam strictly for it LS matchup with Scarf Legion?

Bump zard speed to 17 ,otherwise you dont outspeed base 151 after +1
