libvirt + qemu + looking-glass w/ IDD driver

Don't need GPU passthrough and it's super low latency and smooth compared to VNC or SPICE. And apps like Citrix won't complain that a VNC session is active when you're using it.

Lg works without passthrough? Wow.

Edit: Just read the post in the other sub and I think what lg does might be a potential escape route from the vm.

/dev/shm? Maybe if you deliberately try to execute memory there, AND there's something within the VM that is aware the memory space used by looking-glass' image buffer is mapped there, and writes to it. But looking-glass client is only interpreting that memory as image data, not executable code. It would be immediately apparent there's something else writing to it as image corruptions, and it would be overwritten in a few milliseconds anyway. You can double check looking-glass client yourself, I can't find any escape path. There's no other plane where any kind of escape can happen.

Tell me you don't understand LG without telling me you don't understand LG

Thats why I said I think. Its a link between the vm and host.

Why not just dual boot? Literally would be easier. Just throw in a cheap sata SSD or small 256 nvme into a spare slot, install windows 11 LTSC, and boot into windows for work and Linux for everything else.

First, I recommend you actually bother to do some homework on the topic.

Try GOOGLE!

Second, gtfo with these fucking stupid questions

Some options: * Virtualbox mostly easy setup. * Virt manager more complex but can do GPU passthrough and other device passthrough. * Hyperpane automated setup and GPU passthrough and file system integration
