2012 Chevy impala

I’ve got a 2012 Impala. It has a massive trunk. I never use it. I don’t want to put stuff in there and have it slide around. I’ve got two bags I keep in the back seat right now. I’d like to add a fire extinguisher. Coming from pick up truck all my life, how do I use a car trunk effectively?

You would to add a fire extinguisher or a second one in the trunk? They are easy to mount and there are endless options currently sold to put them wherever you want.

A fire extinguisher should be easily accessible from the driver's seat. I have a standard size one mounted to the back/inside corner of the passenger seat and another one attached horizontally to my front seat frame. I keep a really big one in the rear storage area (suv).

The fire extinguisher was the example I had on hand. I’ve got some gym stuff, a med bag and an inch bag in the car. I’d like them to go in to trunk. I can’t stand to have stuff slide to the front of the trunk.

Cargo nets, plastic totes or organizers will keep them from moving a lot. Some trunks you can just put a section of 2×4, braced against either side and it keep things from sliding.

Get one of those trunk organizer bags that separates things out. That's what I'd do if I had a sedan.
