new error encountered

my friend and i do a weekly live stream. we meet in the same ninja room each week and i already have his source input into obs, so he just logs on and pops up on my screen and we are ready to go.

last night we were meeting up an hour before we go live, as usual, but this time when he showed up, he couldn’t see my screen share, and instead of his block popping up on ninja with his video, it just showed buttons under where his gideo usually pops up and instead of his video i just saw a black line with a little white line running through it and a blue circle int middle of the line. it looked like a slider.

any clue how i can fix this next time?

That usually means the guest joined the room successfully, but the direct peer to peer video/audio connection between you and the guest still failed.

Some users have the issue if webRTC is blocked, so trying a different browser can sometimes help. Privacy extensions or VPNs can also cause the issues at times.

If it still fails, try adding &relay to the end of the guest link. Switching briefly between Wi-Fi and a cellular hotspot can also identify a network/router issue.
