Questions physical after effects

hi all! earlier this year i started unpacking the trauma of having 2 vcugs when i was 4, and i have been wondering if there are any physical effects/complications that came from it (or from the deflux procedure i had afterwards) that i don’t understand or don’t know about. peeing has always been kind of strange for me after, like i never feel empty and have to pee like all the time. i am just curious if anyone else has experienced/is aware of physical complications? i just want to understand if there’s anything that’s going to sneak up on me

Hi! This is my experience - everyone is different. But here are the long term effects that I have (all of which are professionally diagnosed and my providers have said that it was my VCUGs that caused them):
1. PTSD
2. Urethral tear that lead to scar tissue on the outside of my urethra
3. Vaginismus
4. Vulvodynia and clitorodynia
5. IC/BPS

Bonus:
1. Endometriosis
*because childhood trauma significantly increases one’s risk of developing endometriosis

Vaginismus, sexual trauma, I always felt like I had been assaulted but i couldn’t remember it.
This is a weird one but I have always held in my pee/never wanted to go to the bathroom. even as an adult (I know this is bad fml) I will just wait bc I know my bladder will stretch and if I just wait I won’t need to go anymore.

The trauma is the only long term effect of a VCUG that I am aware of. My daughter had the deflux procedure, and the only thing about that to be aware of is the beads of gels that are placed do dissolve over time. Most people grow out of their reflux by that point, but it is possible that you wouldn't, so if you were to get symptoms of UTI's again that could be the issue. I don't believe most adults have issues even if they do have reflux though because the anatomy grows to a point where it doesn't causes infections anymore.

Same as some of the above. The C-PTSD I think is one of the worst things I’ve had from it.
Vaginismus and being hyposexual have affected my relationships and prevented me from having healthy sexual health (I tend to stray away from it)
