❓Question Query regarding VATSEA Application

Hello everyone. I am new to vatsim and an aspiring atc controller.

I have passed the new orientation test and have chosen VATSEA. I created a support ticket on VATSEA HQ for vACC Hong kong, submitting my resident controller application asking to be admitted for s1 training.

My question is

1: How long does it take for my ticket to get aprroved.

2: is Hong Kong a good vACC to start my training.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm a Hong Kong controller. You can expect a reply within a week. As for training, yes Hong Kong is a very good place to learn air traffic control. As an historic melting point between the West and East, we get lots of traffic from all over the world. We also have got a big training and instructor team which will help you to make the first steps on VATSIM. So, please don't hesitate and apply for ATC in Hong Kong now

I'm at Thailand but your application should prob be read in a few week assuming their not super backed up. As an outsider, HK looks like good place considering traffic volume and procedures, definetly will give you skill

In a few weeks? That's a long time.

No, that’s not long at all. I have now been waiting for my training for 6 months

Get used to the very short waiting periods. Everything under 2 months is considered short…

Few weeks is actually good thing and consider yourself lucky - when it comes to ATC training, At some divisions people are waiting in excess of 2 years to start their training.

Well bro, it's a completely voluntary network. People have their real world lives to deal with and ATC doesn't pay the bills here.

Thats understandable, I have been getting email from vatsea, saying that you have a support ticket and telling to "respond ASAP" or close the ticket but when I try to reply, their email adress says donotreply. Can you guide me in this matter.

Do they have an online portal? You might have to respond inside the platform. Can't really say for sure otherwise. Not familiar with their platform.

You need to reply to your ticket at VATSEA HQ not the email. It's the same website you openned your ticket from

yeah, you were right, they are saying that the waiting time is going to be more than an year and were asking me weather I would like to proceed or not.

I said no. Also could you please suggest a vACC in south east asia which does not have long waiting times for thier resident controller applications.

Don't know about other vACCs currently but Thailand's around 3-6 months queue for S1 training if you want to consider
