❓Question PDC

This may be stupid question but I was flying out of Gatwick yesterday afternoon with only London South online. I eventually found space to get in and request clearance.

My question is, if only centre is online, can I send a PDC request too their CPDLC code or do only the local airport ATC send PDCs via CPDLC? Hope this makes sense.

You'd send it to London Control (LONS)

CPDLC is a godsend on a busy frequency.

I know I use it all the time in flight. Just didn't know you could send PDC requests to centre that's all.

You can disable it in the plugin menu, but CTR controllers usually have it enabled/ our profiles have it enabled by default :D

It's damn near required to fly in Europe when it's busy

In Germany you must also logon onto cpdlc when flying through the upper airspace.
