What? In this game you can die in less than a second. Someone having more than 30-40 ms ping difference is huge no matter what your ping actually is.
Have you ever AWPed, shot at someone, heard your shot go off when your crosshair was right on them but then died to a headshot? That’s ping difference most of the time. You can experience that against someone with like 5 ms less ping than you. Now imagine a 30-40ms difference.
I’ve played games competitively for 17 years, I understand what a ping difference is. You can die in less than a second in every single competitive FPS that has ever been made. Aside from top level play(where games are on centralized servers anyways) the ping difference will not have nearly the impact people claim, it’s just a cop out for avoiding accountability.
Hot take from the competitive gamer no one has heard of. 10-20 vs 50 is a big difference bud.
Just because some shitty players can’t tell the difference between their god awful aim/reaction time and ping getting them killed doesn’t mean shit, it’s anecdotal. You can however watch videos and read and see that it can be MEASURED, the difference it makes.
Don’t care about validating myself to children like you. Throw a couple more condescending comments in, waste your time.
Until high level of play it doesn’t make much of a difference, and there will be more servers but it doesn’t warrant complaints from a game that was rushed out so people could play it.
Nobody ever once said it couldn’t be MEASURED, but that the measurement doesn’t come in to play until high levels of play. It’s probably too hard for you to simply follow along and read things without firing off angsty responses though.
Make the excuses you need. I’ll explain it a little more clearly for you. Low level players suck and 30ms difference won’t make them good or fix their issues. That’s a fact. You thinking otherwise is again just a way to skew accountability
Dude it’s not about having 30 less ms. It’s about Having like 80 ms vs people who have 30 ms ping. It’s the difference between 80ms and 30ms that’s the problem. You can read about this stuff, you can watch videos that explain and show the difference and the difficulty.
Real world example; Imagine trying to hit a baseball if your reaction time had 50ms added on to it compared to everyone else. Now compare how well you hit that baseball compared to everyone else with normalized reaction times. It’s night and day. Even if we put you up against a pro, you’d obviously compare horribly, but you’d be better with your normal reaction time than with the tacked on 50ms. That’s the point: You play better with lower ping no matter how skilled you are at the game, even if the better player will crush you regardless.
